Talk about best boyfriend ever! I got a surprise humane society visit and fell in love with this boy! He could cheer anyone up, just look at that him! He looks like a pokemon for crying out loud.
He's three, and a big cuddly baby. Poor thing had been there over a year! Lucky us I suppose. :)
My boyfriend and his mom got him kitty presents and we set him up an elevated bed in front of the window which he loves. He also seems to have picked his favorite chair. X3 It's so nice to see how happy he is with all of his new space and peace.

He's a very lucky (not to mention gorgeous) kitty, and I'm so glad he has a furever home with you and your family. I truly hope he lives a long, healthy and happy life with you all.
My mate and I do cat rescue, and we've tended to take in elderly cats that have been abandoned so that they do not spend their final days terrified and depressed.
One of our most precious of those was a dark tortoise shell colored female that spent the first 19 years of her life with one family. They apparently were aged, and when they went into a retirement/assisted living facility, their poor-excuse-for-an-offspring brought the cat to a kill shelter. She lasted there a month before coming up on the list to be euthanized, at which point a rescue that we worked with put out the word about her, asking if anyone would take her in. My mate and I told her to pull her, and we drove (nearly 12 hours one-way) to pick her up. Mercedes was near death, sick, and very depressed, but we nursed her, telling her that she was safe, and that if she wanted to give us a chance, she would spend however much time that she had with us, safe and as comfortable as we could make her. She recovered, and lived with us for almost another 5 years - she was 2 or 3 months shy of reaching her 25th birthday. She would sleep with us, usually near our heads. We were very sad to lose her to mouth cancer last year, but we would not, could not, let her suffer.

Wooooow! That is a very impressive age! So sad what happened :( I saw a beautiful little tortoise shell lady in this shelter too! Such lovely coats, it's great you guys were able to give her years of extra love and comfort though before it was her time! I bet she was a very happy kitty.
