As part of my plan for this year, of updating my old Cobalt poser figure, I took the step of updating my copy of Poser to the current version, and discovered they've finally added something that the program has needed for years - an ability to import models at an accurate scale.
It used to be, that you could either import a model at 1:1 scale, or a "percentage of standard figure size" and nobody really knows what standard figure size is.
The reason why 1:1 scale is a problem, is because Poser doesn't use the same size scale as every other 3d program in the world. It's scale is actually 1% of that. You can't build at that scale, and shrinking multi-piece models down every time you want to export one piece is just too tedious a hassle to deal with.
But now, I can just import at 1% and have everything line up perfectly. which means I can start to build some complex models like this...
It also means that when I get around to importing a revamped Cobalt model, I can import him at exactly 4 feet tall.
