Back-Story: Nia was born in a genetics lab near Sael University. He appears to be some sort of cross between a cat and a basketball. He was able to escape from the lab and ran (well…bounced) into the forest. Luckily for him, he was discovered shortly there-after by Rei Collins (SAI: Cat) and brought back to her sorority house, Phi Upsilon Rho, the all-Furry sorority on campus.
Present Day Situation: Nia is the beloved pet of the girls of Phi Upsilon Rho. His favorite resident is Rei, the girl who saved him from the forest. Also, Rei shows Nia the most affection because she sympathizes with being the only of her kind. Alala Sune (SAI: Wolf) tends to like Nia because he’s roughly the size of a basketball and bounces like one; Nia usually tries to avoid her. He also likes to rest near Annabelle Grandston (SAI: Skunk) because she is usually so quiet and reserved; he can sleep in peace around her. Though he does enjoy peace, Nia also has fun playing with some of the more energetic girls like Miami Coral (SAI: Rabbit) and Ako Torrin (SAI: Tiger).
Though he can’t say anything other than “Nya,” he does seem to have some sort of intelligence in that he seems to understand the girls when they talk and he acts accordingly; whether it’s being cute to cheer them up, or avoiding them because they’re frustrated. On rare occasions, Nia will open his mouth (which is practically invisible beneath his fur, and sing a small cadence of “Nya’s” for the girls. If there’s one thing Nia is good at, it’s being cute.
What true significance does Nia have to each of the girls? Will they be content letting Rei keep him when she ultimately leaves the university? Perhaps, they’ll leave that decision up to Nia…
(This is a fun little character for me...I started with a circle on Fireworks and began to warp it and this is what came of it. It's the sorority pet).
