(Probably the final set, but I wanted to finish at least up to the end of the fully "scripted" segment I had.)
This legitimately blew me away when it happened. Not only because I was surprised by the changes to when starters learned their first elemental moves but... THIS FIGHT COULD NOT HAVE BEEN EASIER IF THEY TRIED. Remember how the first time this ever happened to you, You could LOSE?? And it was kind of like... to teach you that you needed to use strategy to win? And that losing is OKAY?
But, pfft... you know, I'm the fucking Chosen One or whatever, so I have have my badassery asserted right away to show me that I'm a Special Snowflake, because look how easy I beat this completely fucking rigged fight! Man, I'm SO Awesome! Imma go Save the Woooorld!

i'm okay with Exp Share, because there are 700+ freaking pokemon to train/evolve XD
otherwise, yeah... I see the issue there with making it easy. Maybe if they just didn't give it to you practically right the fuck away? ^.^;;

Mm, was Pokemon Red/Blue era... aaaand I didn't own the game yet XD
First time I played was only for like an hour or two, probably... then that got erased.
Second time I played all the way through, but it was still on a friend's copy... and their gameboy XD
...reminds me, Poison was a terrible mechanical effect. When it blinked the screen as you walked to indicate poison damage was happening, I thought that old brick of a gameboy was just bugging out. XD
