Mai waifu Rei Ayanami. In space. Let's pretend she's in one of those rotating parts of a space station. Anyone else disappointed that the "space use plugsuits" in Rebuild 3.0 were just the regular plugsuits with space helmets attached? Plus it was a goddamn, like, 14 year time skip so they could've just went bonkers and used ANIMA's designs which are fetishy as hell and that's why I love them.
This started as an excuse to draw (horribly off model and very spankable) Rei butt and ballooned into this.
I enjoy designing untrue-to-canon plugsuits. (you can also see the silhouette of a fan redesign of Unit 00. I did it back in college for this fancomic I never did.)
Insert obligatory statement about how I don't own Rei even though it's incredibly obvious that I don't.

I'm drawing a blank (woke up not too long ago) and trying to figure out if you're referring to that she has Lilith's soul and Lilith is from space, or that she was absorbed into 01 and 01 was put into orbit between Rebuild 2.0 and 3.0.

I'm reserving final judgement on 3.33 until 3.0+1.0 (god these titles are hard to keep track of) comes out, because if I remember correctly, the original plan was to have the last two movies as a 'double feature.' 3.0 does really feel like the first half of a bigger film, and they decided to cut it in half right at an awkward point.
