For those of you who haven't seen my journal, and I'm sure it's all, I'm not dead, I'm not leaving, and no, I wasn't taking a break. I just...
I started streaming this afternoon, to myself again ..., and was making this. At some point I stopped, mostly because I got stuck on something and was tired. I streamed for 5 hours, and worked on this for another 2 or 3 hours.
Regardless, I continued to work on this. I literally feel like I'm gonna collapse over with exhaustion, so after this post, I will go to bed.
I just wanted to practice modeling, and upload a new submission. I had an idea in my head and wanted to work towards it. Luckily I finished this in one day.
The frost / frozen condensation on the side of the cup was something I had to make up myself. Don't even know the technical term to look up a tutorial, and as I was streaming, I didn't want to take so long looking up stuff instead of making stuff.
There are probably a few corrections I could make, but I'm done.
The sprinkles, while simple, took me a little while. I forgot how to do particle scattering for a bit before I realized I had a wrong setting. I also had to re-learn random color duplication.
The hardest bit was the sublimation, or the coldness coming from the frosty. I couldn't get the simuation to work right, so instead of wasting all my time on it, I stopped it and just added in a 2D image to fake it.
I had to render twice because of noise. I decided to take out the background and make a simple one in 2D. It was just a simple color, but I wanted more control of it, and the color was affecting my model with bounce lighting.
Unfortunately, this makes the image look weird, like the model was cut out, which is kind of was.
Finally, the image was supposed to be a lot bigger, but came out a bit small. I had forgotten to raise the resolution. I didn't realize until finalizing the image, and seeing how small it was. I'm not rendering again tonight. Maybe tomorrow.
For those wondering, this is a vanilla ice cream / frosty, with orarnge cream blend, sprinkles, topped with a cherry and includes a stripped straw.
All models and textures are by me. The smoke wisps come from textures101.com
I hope you all enjoy. I am going to bed. I really need sleep before I literally pass out from exhaustion, and a bit of depression from people.
***EDIT***
I have re-rendered this at a higher resolution, and higher brightness. I have also slightly edited the background. I hope it's better.
