(My storytelling skills may not be the best though xD)
...It was a cold afternoon on that day, the small house had been plagued with nothing but silence for the past hour. From the kitchen to the dining room the dim afternoon sunlight could be seen, painting the walls and floor with a bright yellow. Next to where the sunlight touched the floor, a couch hosted a single soul, the dim light washing all over her pink fur making it stand out even more than before, wearing a pair of blue shorts and a black tank top yet, this lonely girl was still, calm, unmoving, and only the slow movement of her chest could be seen in the silence of the afternoon.
She had been feeling down on the past few days, being separated from her family at this time of the year... Her tail shifted back and forth a few times, and she would grunt with discomfort every few minutes, looking blinkly at the carpet on the floor near the dusty TV. The air in the house smelled of loneliness and melancholy and could only make her feel worse.
It would have seemed like she was in trance, her eyes blinking very slowly every few seconds, and her tail that had now wrapped up around her waist, she felt cold somehow, even in this time of the year, here where it is always pleasantly warm. A few more seconds passed and, just as a chill went down her spine and made her shiver, a loud bell rang, making her gasp and tense up instantly in surprise.
She looked over to the wide white door and thought... "Who could that be...?"
Slowly, and a little reluctanly, she stood up and walked very slowly towards the door, her tail following hanging a little low, and, as her hand rested on the doorknob, she swallow a small knot in her throat. As the doorknob made a loud snap, the door opened up, the warm air from the outside slipping in and wrapping around her pink fur in seconds, and, she lloked forward to the figure standing in front of her, it turned out into a slightly shorter figure. By wiping her eyes tightly she could ntice it was her friend, Louise, who only stood the on the door with a broad smile and said: "Hey there sleepyhead!"
Feeling a little more in comfort, Roxana let out a soft sigh. "Hey there, I didn't expect you to come today." She said, sounding a little sadder than she meant.
"I'm sorry, I had to do some errands, but here I am now!" Was Louise's reply, and, after a pat on the shoulder, Roxana invited Louise inside. Shutting the door behind them, the air in the house had warmed up ever so slightly, and, Roxana's attention was diverted to the gray wolf in front of her, Louise kept walking around the house, detailing every single detail, watching a few pictures on the table of Roxana's family.
"It's been a month since you arrived, right?" Said the gray wolf as her hands rested on a picture of Roxana's complete family.
"Yes... It has been... A little tough." Said Roxana, hugging her arms softly. As she said this, Louise put down he picture and rubbed Roxana's shoulder.
"I know... It must be touch being far away from them." Was Louise's answer, followed by a small nod from Roxana.
"Hey... It's alright, I know how hard it is for you." Said Louise as she rubbed Roxana's head, trying to calm her down, which worked almost instantly.
"Thanks..." Roxana's eyes had locked on the Louise's for a second, to which Louise only smiled and took out a blue and white bag from behind her.
"Here." She said while extending her arm, as to give the bag to Roxana, the pink wolf took the bag softly and looked at her in confusion, to which Louise only giggled and walked to the kitchen.
"I'll wait here!" Said Louise from the kitchen, to the still confused Roxanne which, at that point, simply walked towards her own room, with each passing step she took, the same question filled her mind... "What is this...?"
As she entered her room and locked the door behind her unconsiously. She turned to her table and put the bag down, using her claws to gently open the bag. As it opened she slipped her hands inside and pulled out a long black and white dress, pretty much to her awe, she did not know what was going on... She only felt the sudden urge to put it on, which she did in a record time.
Once fully dressed again, she took a glance at herself on the mirror, noticing how well the dress fit her, her eyes brightened up ever so slightly. After this, she took the bag in her hands and walked outside of her room, while making a small turn on the kitchen she thought she must have looked very silly in that dress, but she walked on instead, once she entered the kitchen she found Louise with her back turned against her, facing the window.
"U-Um..." That sound escaped from Roxana's lips, and Louise turned around with a calm smile on her face.
"W-What is this...?" As she said this Louise turned around to face her completely with a bigger smile on her face.
Louise took a small breath and said "I thought it would make you look pretty, but look at you, you look beautiful!".
To this, Roxana blushed instantly and looked ashamed to the other side. "B-But why?".
"Well, I think I want to see you all beautiful in your special day!" Said Louise gleefully as she sidestepped, revealing what was behind her, Roxana's eyes brightening up instantly with a loud gasp.
It was silent for a few seconds, as Roxana was still trying to take the sight of a birthday cake on the counter, her sight only darted back and forth from the cake to the still smiling Louise. Slowly Roxana started walking forward towards the cake with a deep blush, her eyes tearing up ever so slightly and, once she stood in front of the cake, she stopped and looked at it.
"I know you feel alone, and that your family is so far away... But... While you're here, I'll be your family, okay?" Said Louise from behind her, wrapping her arms slowly around Roxana's shoulders.
Slowly and in front of the afternoon light, Roxana smiled and started to giggle, her giggling escalating into a soft laugh as her eyes were tearing up even more, she rested back against Louise in the middle of her laughter and hugged her arms.
"O-Oh my god...! You silly thing!" Said Roxana while nuzzling Louise's cheek, and so, Louise hugged her tighter and giggled too.
"I hope you like it, Happy Birthday girl!" <3
Birthday gift I got from this amazing guy, I totally love this gift, it means a lot for me and it really touched my heart I can't explain it but it did. Also he spent the whole night awake working on it...I sometimes feel that I don't deserve such amazing friends but gosh...I love you, my friends, I've got so many good memories with you and some of the words you dedicated to mr on this day just made me feel all warm and made me drop some tears, thank you Dani, thank you all. I love you guys.
