Got bored with myself.
SO I MADE ME AN ICON.
I'm open for doing icons like these for donations! With your chosen activity on them! I could use them soooo baaad.
This is a 250x250 original size icon, with 4x magnified 1024x1024 and 100x100 FA size views! Not too shabby I think. =} Though it looks like I would https://youtu.be/nE4M1pR5VsA?t=8m40s , in reality I'm not hardcore. Only in effort am I epic at all, I'm not fast or strong yet. :) Us mountain bikers are more like surfers than anything else.
Critiques, comments welcome! Thanks for looking. Hope it's something that grabs you!

This is so very very cool. :) I love the look of this, aaaaaaand.... yeah I could well be tempted to commission you for a similar Dorish kinda one, around the idea of riding my road bike. When you say 'for donations' how do you mean? How much money substance should I hurl at your face to potentially make a cycleDorey icon happen? :>
AHAHAHA TEMPTING. :D I will tell you that I suck at selling though, because anytime someone says 'Ooh I might commission you maybe!' I always say 'well make sure you can afford it and perhaps there's something more important you need to buy and oh hey I know some better specialized artists you might like...' I recommend AGAINST myself ahaha.... I need to learn how to sell, period. Selling myself short would still be better than non-selling myself Xp
For donations means, some nonzero amount of money (no negative dollars PLS OKAY XD). Honest, no one could afford me hourly for what I spend on one of these, but I hope to get dignity + speed + launch money + experience as I start to do these. really, like $4 or $3 is great! I haven't yet learned that the fun of making something entertaining for someone doesn't pay the bills by itself yet, so I don't ask for more.
Also the funny funny thing is, it seems all the best-selling art is stuff with THIIICK outlines, EXTREME colors, and PLAIN basic designs (not real high complexity/artistry). This pic proves it a little in that I've tried selling other art that took like 25 hours, for about the same price or not much higher, and no one paid any mind to it. It sucks. I think since people don't know their art history, or contemporary art culture, and hey IT'S OKAY if you don't yet, people don't see the history and meaning in what furry art they're looking at now.
Like 800 years of Dutch painting tradition appears in the latest muscle fetish tiger digital painting work, I can see it, and yet that escapes most of us, me included, before I took art history classes. And that's too bad. In the end, us furs can take more honor and pride in our furry culture pointing back for millenia at our ancestor artists, but we just let ourselves get pushed around by internet bullies, and then we think it's funny if we mock each other. And i'm going... 'but we are descendants of Earth's mightiest creators...wat.'

Well you've basically sold me on one of these, simply by showing the example and saying you were open for doing them, if you're willing. :} Will toss you an email!
It's interesting, I suppose part of it is that bold lines and bright colours can be more striking to people especially when viewing art digitally. And especially especially when considering things like user icons, that are going to be pretty small for showing up the kind of detail you get from really fine work and Dutch Masters kind of stuff. Plus there's always the age-old difference between 'what's visually striking/popular/desired by the masses' vs. 'what exhibits the highest degree of craftsmanship and represents a real contribution to the advancement of the art.' Not always gonna be the same thing. I certainly have an appreciation for the really good quality stuff, but often what I (or my bank account) am in the mood for is more 'poppy' icon kinda stuff too. It's nice to have a mix.

Just the thoughts that came to mind anyway! What's 'good' or 'high quality' just isn't always the same as what's 'popular.' For goodnesssakes just look at prime time reality television these days if you want a good example. ^^;
Although with that said, I really think the work you do is good, even when you're going for bold lines and bright colours rather than srs bsns Dutch Masters stuff. What attracted me to this work here isn't just the bright colours, it's the sense of motion and emotion that really makes the viewer feel like they're totally clinging to a GoPro on your handlebar or something, probably going WAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAGH!!!!!!!!!!! O..O as you hurl yourself down a mountainside at ridiculous speeds. :) And that's all stuff that makes good art to me, too. When it makes the viewer feel things, feel like they're part of the action and such. It's something you are very good at. :)

. . . I should think more. Xp and srs bsns, haha. The secret to that motion sensation too is all angles, angles. And funny that you say it looks like something shot with a GoPro, I guess the weeks of watching snowboard and mountain bike documentaries rubbed off the camera angles and lens distortions on me. C8
I get such hope from being told that I am good at that!
