The green ant colony is sort of distant relatives of the red and blue. Esma's species, however, developed differently than the sister colonies, a smaller physique and continued use of more than 2 legs.

By decision of Esma herself, the hive mind mentality isn't as 'strong' and many individuals are indeed individuals, and instead of a 99.9% sterile female workforce, the population is well-evened out with a good amount of both sexes, and fertility is not uncommon amongst the workers.

The Queen of rival colony, Tan ants, looks down on the green Queen's odd societal decision, seeing the practice as inferior to the longevity, abundance and order of the population.

Esma employs a strong economy, with a booming happiness amongst the population, albeit not as abundant in numbers when compared to the Tan colony. Red and Blue have evolved to a point (and as 'humanoid') where abundance is not necessary.
