It was cold--around 50f--and misting rain, so I was a little worried I'd be too cold. But I should never doubt the ability of a layer of fur to keep one over-warm, even with just a daishiki and tights over my chest!
There was a lot of mud on the ground. After a while I just stopped caring. |)
I need to make a slit up the back of the daishiki (shirt) so it doesn't ride up my tail like that.
Observations:
* Correctly species'd around 50% of the time! Wow! :)
* Ladies love the silly animal costumes. Guys will generally give you a 'Cool, dude' if that.
* One woman bizarrely wanted a kiss...I hope I didn't injure her with my heavy fimo nose!
* Little kids, young enough for parents to carry them, are very dubious. Some are brave enough to shake a claw if offered, other ones are terrified. These are the ones who survived, in previous centuries. :)
* Only one person offered me money.. Utunu is just cuter than I am. Ah well, hee.
* One person asked me if I made the costume myself (yes) and then if I would take money to make one (NONONONO)
* More than one person assumed I worked at the faire. When I told one of them I was doing it for fun she looked very dubious!
* Using the urinal in the men's room in costume is amusing, because you are invisible. No one wants to acknowlege a hyena when they are trying to pee. :)
* Affecting a swagger only lasts until I start doing the pantomimed reactions, which all the sudden have a big swish factor. Possibly intrinsic to pantomime!
Had fun, lasted most of the day...cooling off is quick in low temps! Thanks to Corby for babysitting me and helping people take pictures. <3

Wow, you did a lot better with people identifying your species! AWDs aren't just very well known. :/
Yeah, I had one kiss request too. Was a guy though! :)
Most kids were pretty cool with me, even the young ones. Especially when offered a high-five.
Sorry, can't help the cuteness! I'm surprised you didn't get more money offers. :/
Using the urinal isn't even an option for me. :(

Haha... 50°F cold - you can tell you're in Texas. ;) That's really awesome though - glad it went well, and I love the point-form breakdown. XD I wonder why the ladies are so into it? And the bathroom, LOL! Never thought of that, but I guess it really would be a surreal moment for most guys. XD
