This is really the only functional difference. My only thought when I found the FO4 Junk Jet was 'why the hell would I waste valuable junk as ammo!?'
Now if it had a Suck option, then that would be another story...

You can use junk as resources to upgrade your weaponry or to build up settlements, which can bring in resources, food, water, bottlecaps, etc, and let you build shops which generate a slow stream of caps, while also providing you with a place to buy high level loot without having to get lucky at an arms dealer, while also carrying a high number of caps so you can sell lots of loot without having to wait for the cap supply to restock.

Although with the exception of children of atom and super mutant suiciders, i actually felt i havent needed power armor.
and the finishers are soooo worth the price of admission.
i once tombstoned a guy then broke his neck in the middle of him taunting me.
and nothing beats fisting a deathclaw till his head explodes.

Either way I have my suit decked out in full Military paint for the +str bonus and run about touting a Stunning Super Sledge. Most things die in one normal swing, the ones that don't die in one power-swing. :D Plus I have Paladin Danse backing me up with a minigun and laser rifle.
