On 11th November 1918 at 5.15 am, the Armistice of the Great War was signed by the Kapitän zur See Ernst Vanselow, Count A. Oberndorff, General Winterfeldt and Herr Erzberger in front of the British officers, Admiral Sir Rosslyn Wemyss, Captain J.P.R Marriott and Rear Admiral Sir G. Hope, and in front of the French officers Général Weygand and Maréchal Foch.
At 11am, the ceasefire was implempted and French, British and German soldiers put their weapons for share cigarettes with the former enemy.

-Soldat de 1ère Classe Augustin Trébuchon of the 415e RI, killed by a bullet in the head when he was carrying a message to his commander at 10.55am, he was 40. (France)
-Private Georges Edwin Ellison of the 5th Royal Irish Lancers, killed during a patrol at 9.30am, he was 40. (UK)
-Private Georges Lawrence Price of the 28th Northwest Battallion Canadian Infantry (Saskatchewan Regiment) "the Nor'westers", killed when he was giving a flower to a French woman for the Armistice at 10.58am, he was 25. (Canada)
-Oberleutenant Erwin Alexander Thomä of the Ulanen-Regiment Nr. 19, killed by an American bullet at 12.10pm, he was 22. (Germany)
-Sergeant Henry Nicholas Gunther of the 313th Infantry Regiment, killed during an American attack at 10.59am, he was 23. (USA)
