To be redone later, I wanted a lot more out of this and I didn't get it, so I hurried along and just sketched it out. An ink sketch of the laserboat I make out of Stormcrows in the Mechwarrior games. Maybe my favorite 'mech too, at least in 2.

Battletech making a comeback! I read that it got funded a bunch of times over in just a day, haha. I wish them the best of luck with it. No Clans / Clan mechs is a bit of an ouch for me; I don't really like the IS designs for the most part, but FlyingDebris / Alexander Iglesias made them look really cool, so that's a plus!
Haha, that's been a while! And yeah, there still are, however not all day. Usually around 1900-0000 GMT, though we have some days where there isn't a lot. Currently there's a lot going on around a community revival though, especially around the north american time zone.
A sure bet for getting a good combined arms game is the Chaos March, which is basically an organized community event every weekend (saturday and sundary) - a no respawn thing with balanced teams, aimed to simulate a battletech engagement. Just requires TS3 so you can listen to voice, but no mic required. A bit of wait time between matches but it's a fun time.
Or if you just like playing public matches, there's the open merc night most wednesdays 1900-0000 GMT, which is basically just "we fill up the server and have some fun" :D
You can always check if there's players on http://stats.spikx.net/mwll.html , or hop onto TS at mwll.mwmaster.net :)

Of course :D The MWLL community is really friendly towards new players, usually helping where they can. We're all glad to see new players. If you see anyone with [W-R] or SJ tags let them know you're new, they'll gladly give you a hand.
MWLL mechs technically have an arm reticule now, actually - some use it, some don't, it's a little jumpy so takes time to get into. Personally I still play with the old arm locked reticule, haha.

I played a little tonight! I saw 8 people online but by the time I managed to wrestle MWLL into working it was down to 2, so I spent a couple rounds going 2-on-1 with a very good pilot named Bob. My teammate was a dude with very little english who spoke in allcaps(I don't mind, he was chill)
I forgot how much better MWLL's gameplay, sound, and levels are. The only edge MWO can claim is in the 'Mech department(animations and assets), but it's kind of amazing that they got 'Mechs to work at all in a Crysis mod so that kind of evens things out...

Hah, b0b's great :D He's a regular in our game, on almost every night. The installing process is a bit of a hassle, yeah, I'm glad you got it working though!
Glad to hear you're liking the game, and I very much agree with you on all these parts. There's words spoken that MWO took a lot of knowledge from MWLL before shutting them down to do their own game, but that's a whole different story, hah..
I'll probably be playing some this week, so I'll likely see you around on the servers! :) I'm using the same name as here on FA, Serpentus.
