Florinettes are Daemons that originate from the realm of Meldrassil; a world untouched by humankind and the blueprint for our own world. They’re naturally magical beings, born with the ability to both wield and consume magic. Florinettes turn immortal when they become adults, and will not die of old age!
Florinettes grow fragrant flowers on their bodies the moment they hit puberty. These flowers emit an entrancing, almost hypnotizing scent. People who inhale this scent will feel some sort of attraction to the Florinettes and a need to protect them. The scent itself varies from Florinette to Florinette, but they’re always pleasant.
The entrancing qualities of a Florinettes flowers unfortunately make them highly sought after, putting Florinettes at risk of being hunted. Through digesting or smoking dried Florinette flowers, one can experience a high which puts one in a fuzzy, happy and very pleasant state of dreaming.
The flowers are also used for extremely expensive and luxurious perfumes that not only smells amazing, but also have the same powers as the flowers themselves; a power to entrance, pacify and lure people into the the wearers grasp. Picking a Florinettes flower is deemed unethical as it does hurt to some extent; that doesn’t stop fellow Daemons from taking advantage of them. Florinettes have been known to be held captive for their flowers.
Florinettes can look as human as your next Daemon, with patterned skin, normal hands and legs, or they can look like soft animals on legs; and anything in between! Their diet consists of berries, fruits and meat, depending entirely on the Florinettes preferences.
Florinettes are born genderless and sexless and only begin developing sexual characteristics during puberty, depending on what they’re comfortable with and what they identify as; still, some go their entire lives without developing sexual characteristics. Florinettes refer to everybody with gender-neutral terms, though some chose to use gendered pronouns for themselves.
They feel most at peace in their woodland homes and prefer the quiet company of animals and other Florinettes! They find most other Daemons to be far too brutal and mean, and aren’t as interested in high society gatherings as a lot of other Daemons.
