He who fails to prepare, prepares to fail! It's why I am a CERT member, a First Responder, and why I have med kits, light construction tools and fire extinguishers in my trucks. This is just a fun example of taking preparedness to extremes, though'd I'd have all this stuff anyway......
Depending on what kind of zombies are, I'd be wary of any edged weapon, as it would be more likely to expose you to blood-borne illness that may possibly be the cause of the zombism. But an axe would still be useful for clearing trees felled trees and barriers, as well as felling trees and constructing barriers.
There's a fireman's emergency proceedure book out there in actual, official use that includes a chapter (13, of course) about what to do in the event of extraterrestrial invasion.
No joke. For real and everything.
If they can be prepared for THAT, then you can be ready for zombies.
Still, you forgot to include a chainsaw.

BZ is rather like advanced Alzheimer's; you have a memory span of a few seconds. It is not a fear gas because you can't remember anything long enough to go on a bummer. "Why am I carrying this heavy thing?" Can't remember why he is carrying a rifle or even what is is used for and drops it. Lasts about 72 hours. Lethal dose is about 500 times the effective dose. BZ is the most humane weapon ever invented. I have taken the shorter acting analogs JB-327, JB-329, and JB-336. Amazing - you never realize that your mind isn't working normally - it is everybody else who is crazy...
