My last upload before I'm away for a week.
So, if you're particularly up to date with Monster Hunter: Stories you might have seen the demo video by gaijinhunter recently.
A kid and his baby kut-ku kill a Rathalos. Needless to say this was quite a surprise to me, I didn't expect stories to be the kind of game to have killing in it, given it's cutesy aesthetic. I try not to be prideful, and I've never been bothered by hunting Rathalos before in the mainstream games, but the moment I saw this Rathalos get killed by a kid and his chicken, I furrowed my brow and knew that I'd have to draw something like this.
So here's a Rathalos, maybe me, having downed the murderous little bastard, in the process of gulping down his kut-ku buddy. Is this underage prey? I dunno, we don't really know the age of the protagonist, but as always reformation is implied to put everyone's minds at ease, but until then it's gurgle time for the both of them.
Anyway, I'll be away until the 1st or 2nd of October now, so bye everyone. I should return with drawings for a few people though.
Rathalos, kut-ku and everything monster hunter related belongs to Capcom

Graphics are rarely a good indication as to how the gameplay will go and how 'serious' the game is. Look at Kingdom Hearts for example.
Not really sure what you expected from Stories though, a deathless game with no conflict other than stealing eggs and wagging your finger at things? :P
I can't imagine that the 'los you fight was anything other than a young one or a runt, since there's really no way a new fighter and a recently hatched monster would be able to take one on otherwise. It's just gameplay reasons anyway - if they really were going to be strict about what you can or can not beat at that point in the game, you'd be fighting an Iodrome pack or something instead.
I still think 'kill' is a bit strong, and unless they outright show the corpse afterwards I've got free reign to simply ignore it and think whatever I like :P
Pretty common for games like Dragonquest and etc to have the monsters simply vanish after the fight's over, and with a few of the DQ titles (And the Monsters spin-off) they'll magically just get back up and be all impressed with how powerful you are and ask to join your party (Didn't you like, "kill" them a second ago? :B) and if you say No they just wander off.
So yeah. No corpse, not gonna believe it's always ending in a death.
Nice nums tho o3o

Yeah, and you can get more than just one head from some monsters in the main games - capture or not ;P
Pretty sure it was Garuga who would provide 3 ~ 4 wings despite it clearly only having two, and their wings still don't disappear after you take them :B
Easy enough to chalk a lot of things up to "Game Mechanics" honestly - and in RPG's you'll see this sort of thing a lot. Iodrome being a "three hits and its dead" Jaggi-level monster in one zone, then just waltzing over to the next one and suddenly they're doing eighteen times the amount of damage but still are otherwise exactly the same. I'm guessing that's going to be the case, but it might not.
THIS part I can agree with 100% though xD
K.O. or dedz, it's still quite the drop in status to be taking Great Jaggi's role as First Boss :P

Of course, that gave me an idea now: Great Jaggi mocking you/los for becoming a Tutorial Monster (Though I imagine he'll be all tough and stuff later in the game too, but still) for Stories, and then and then... Rathalos eats him :L
GreatJaggi: (Pointing and laughing) HAH!
Rathalos: ........
