Chapter 003 of my crossover fic "Tails of the Old Republic".

Geez, to think I started writing this all the way back in 2010. The writing style is certainly showing its age, at least in my mind.

Now that I've written a few dozen chapters, when I look back at 003 & 004, I have to say these are my least favorite chapters of the series. Making Tails kill to survive, so abruptly, will undoubtedly be a shock to many new readers, perhaps to the point of not desiring to read further. Considering the nature of this crossover, forcing Tails to defend himself like this is practically inevitable. I just wish to assure new readers that I'm purposefully trying to *avoid* wrecking Tails' kind and peace-loving character. Even understanding he did what he had to survive, Tails will regret his actions here, and this memory will loom over his mind for several chapters ahead.
