Here see how the Dog-Thing usually eats its meals. Sometimes they eat so much they're physically unable to walk. And before you ask, Dog-Things are not nor ever will be anthropomorphic. They're only feral in canon.

Description on the back reads:
"It was sudden and unfortunate, but somehow an unknown prey (guess) was walking up to Dog-Thing and before even knowing it, was swallowed and landed into Dog-Thing's belly. There, haven given up, he sits, being digested to eventually become shit."
