It's really bare bones and has some issues with crashing and stuff sometimes. The old versions are free though (I'd recommend using something a bit more reliable like photoshop if you can be bothered... I don't personally as I just hate it)

Ah yeah! I picked up something called Pro Motion on the RPG maker humble bundle and was like "Ish this good or should I do something else?" Because it's really fascinating seeing all this pixel art. Really wanna get a jump in on it.

Ah yeah, what I use doesn't have nearly that much, it's more like if ms paint had transparency, layers and frames. There's really not a tonne in it, but it does the job.

You should try getting into it though, it can be quite a lot of fun.

Thanks! Any tips for a newbie? I thought I'd just "copy" some SNES sprites and a starting point is probably the hardest thing to chose. @_@ It really isn't as simple as it seems.

Yeah, I know what you mean. Absolutely try copying ones, it's always the best way to learn isn't it. Beyond that I don't know, if you've got RPG maker, try doing a dumb little project with that, it'll give you something to work towards (pretty sure I started doing stuff like that, making pokemon sprites and whatnot in gamemaker when I was younger, couldn't make any games though, and I've just been pissing about since).
