One of my favourite pictures from my hike up Sulphur Mountain yesterday. Got to see what lies on the other side of the spray river valley, namely the sundance range, so named for the number of sundance sites that the first nations used that are near that area.
I won't be able to adequately explain the significance of the sundance to the first nations people myself, so I'll simply say that it is an incredibly sacred event and from what I can gather one of the most important celebrations that the bands in the rockies would perform.
But yeah, aside from the gondola ride down being free after 6:30 I chose a great time to head up there. The haze from the forest fires in BC combined with the setting sun to create a truly majestic picture. Honestly this really doesn't do it justice, but I think it gets the idea across.
