Built by the famed Italian designer Batista Pinin Farina it was meant to predict the future of the sedan. However while the configuration of the wheels did not pan out it did accurately predict the use of aerodynamics. It does look a lot like today's minivans and crossovers doesn't it? More like one of those than today's sedans.

There was Streamline Cars Ltd back in, I think 1926-1927 or so with the first "streamlined" cars.
The 1934 Chrysler Airflow predicted streamlining and wind tunnel design nearly 30 years before this 4-door Reliant Robin half-a-car.
Also station wagons and estates were around long before crossovers and SUVs. Hell, most crossovers now are just station wagons by a different name.
Even Walt Disney imagined cars like this with better wheel layout just about as far back.
So while some Pininfarina car designs are absolutely astonishing and beautiful, this one is pretty damn ugly, and the only thing it predicted was that one wheel in front and two in back was a terrible idea.
It looks like it was designed in a single car garage and he had got mid way before buying 2 motorcycles to put in the garage, so just skimped on what may have been a nice front end to fit the motorcycles in his garage with this at the same time instead. lol
