She's technically normal sized, but to him she's micro. Because Red's macro genes were reccessive, they didn't activate until he evolved into a typhlosion at the age of 20. Orchid is his childhood friend from when they were 5 years old. As for how they got back together... it's a long story... no seriously, I will have to cover a lot of subjects for it all to make sense including how he's so old and look so young and how he has a son.
