Sketch dump! Composition sketches for another largish painting I want to do once "Alice" is finished; a multi winged alien phoenix flying through stars and nebulae with luminous magnolia flowers that have stars in them, probably with a little entourage of bird/fae inspired alien critters.
Somewhat inspired by a combination of the Panspermia hypothesis and my musings on the possibility of alien life, and the odd forms it might take, accompanied by the phoenix as an earthly sign of life, death and rebirth. A bit more surreal than my usual, and a little symbolic/conceptual, which is something I'd like to challenge myself to do more often. I've had this concept in mind for a long time and I'd really like to find a composition I'm happy with, but it's a challenge with all the wings and branches everywhere.

I may or may not be able to finish this in time to make prints of this available as a stretch goal for the coming ‪kickstarter‬ project... Depends on how well the project does, and how quickly I can finish "Alice" and any commissioned pieces I end up with.
