I woke up early on May 1st with this image in my head. And I thought to myself that maybe I've gotten good enough to make it finally.
I, for whatever reason in my head, thought I could do this in just 4 hours, 1 day max.
22 days later, I finally finish. It didn't actually take 22 days. Maybe 22 hours though.
Because I was working on it for 12 hours the other day alone. Took 8 hours and 45 minutes to render.
I tried uploading it yesterday, but after a full hour or attempting to do so, couldn't, so went home.
Figured since I have another day to myself, I'll edit it some more. It did have a bit of noise in it.
I redid the posing to what I originally imagined, and upped the lighting a bit, if only to get better shadows.
The reason it took so long to render yesterday was because I set the sampling rate, or quality amount if you want to think of it like that, to 500.
With the new posing and rendering, I only did 100 samples. Took 2 hours and 14 minutes.
This image is a bit noisy. Not in the lighting which it usually is, but the quality, since 100 isn't as good.
I still have some compositing to do, but for now, I am quite done with this image. I hope you all enjoy!
The image is of what I call a micro-draggy stealing one of my noodles from my soup.
I was aiding him/it up a bit. What's a micro-draggy you might ask?
I doubt I'm the first to do this, but I took a dragon and made it miniature.
I was at first going to call it a mini dragon, then maybe a nano dragon, but micro-draggy stuck.
Terry the Kyu helped me a bit with the idea of it. The horn detail that is.
I will indeed open the species up for public use. It's just a small dragon, but there are a few things to note.
I think I will make a render of it by itself and open it up soon.
I worked for a long time on this image. I didn't think it'd take this long, but wow.
I realize there are a few errors. The thumb looks weird, bone separation on the dragon, maybe a few material defects, etc.
I will be uploading the WIP images and renders I made. Maybe in a couple days since library is closed tomorrow.
I really hope you all like the image.
As usual, don't steal, copy, edit, etc.
If you want something, just ask.
I WILL be opening up the micro-draggu species to all, and I don't mind sharing this scene.
I may have to remove my hands though.
