This is a really neat piece! I think you definitely captured his compositional sense for bold and interesting negative spaces, and the silhouettes of your figures are great! Your style is definitely well suited to this kind of work. I would totes be interested in an experimental commission if you were up for such a thing!
You know that thing where you leave a tab open on the far left side of the browser and don't see it for weeks at a time? I should have replied sooner. The Gruau itch gets stronger with each passing day... I'm confident, anyways, since this actually got better in the couple of weeks since I've looked at it (a rare occurrence, to be sure!)
