As Breaker started to relax after her long match with Mai, her friend, Blaine the kitsune floated over. The small figure of the foxlike female made Breaker take notice.
“Hey Breaker, what’s up?”
“Just trying to figure out how Mai fights,” Breaker said, looking at the Panda tribeswoman. Mai closely resembled the animal her tribe was nabbed for, especially after having transformed. It had granted her greater strength and speed. Breaker was having trouble against Mai’s form. “There are a few moves she uses that I’d like to add to my style.”
“Really now?” Blaine smiled mischievously as she looked at Mai. It was a look Breaker learned often precipitated one of Blaine’s “makeovers.” “I think I could help with that.”
“Er, I’m good, Blaine. I’ll figure it out on my own,” Breaker aid, trying to dissuade the foxlike girl.
Blaine narrowed her eyes. She wasn’t going to give up easily.
“C’mon. It’ll be best to learn about her combat style in a way that you can relate to her. Once you get a feel for it like that, you’ll probably be able to translate it into your normal self.”
“No.”
“C’mon…Please?” Blaine asked, mustering all of her innate cuteness. She saw that she was wearing away Breaker’s will.
Eventually, Breaker decided to give in. She could resist Blaine no longer.
“Fine. Just promise not to go overboard.”
“How about I promise to make it fun instead?” Blaine poked Breaker on the nose and giggled, watching as Breaker started to feel the transformation start.
