"EFF Haiku: Fizzies"

Lest you'd all thought I'd neglected to create a fitting prose for "National Poetry Month" (April, 2015), rest assured I hadn't forgotten...
My latest work is my fourth in a series of "EFF Haiku" comic gags - usually tying in a familiar 'fat furs'' character with a seventeen-syllable verse...
This time, my subject is 'Gery' the water dragon - a creation of "FA" member ScottC. But for my latest illustration of him, 'Gery' is presented in an inflated form... and it's not from drinking massive amounts of water, as he usually does...
For most of you "FA" members who are 'millennials' - who'd never experienced the 1960s before - you've probably never heard of Fizzies(R). In a nutshell, they are small tablets that, when dropped in a glass of water, create a fruit-flavored carbonated beverage. Among the flavors are grape, cherry, orange, and strawberry. (Of course, many of you who never partook a sip of Fizzies(R) might still know the effervescent drink from its use in practical jokes. See "National Lampoon's Animal House" for a brief reference to Fizzies(R) by 'Dean Wormer' - played by John Vernon.)
Well, wolf cub 'Jonathan Lupus' in one of his mischievous moods, offers 'Gery' a number of strawberry-flavored Fizzies(R), just to see what would happen if the water dragon swallow them. Predictably, the carbonation in the dragon's belly causes 'Gery' to swell up to such a grotesque proportion, that the comic panel could not contain him. The top of the oblong explodes, allowing 'Gery' to continue expanding outside its confines. Meanwhile, 'Rob Cat' the bobcat scolds 'Jonathan' for his actions - in the form of said haiku.
I hope to post more prose in future "EFF" comic gags, even after "National Poetry Month" ends. So keep your eyes and ears open for them!

Actually, Rob, you can still buy Fizzies! Several "nostalgia" candy stores feature them, and they may be available on Amazon.com too.
Nice work here!
But this seemed to be a bad idea from the beginning...
I found out about Fizzies when we tried to find this "other" fizzing candy. They fizz up when you put them in your mouth, but they're the size of big Sweettarts and they came in the paper cylinder. Would have been great to swallow whole! ;)
Thank you!
