I can imagine why. Beast of the land fighting beasts of the sea. Though the only thing I'd say this really has in common: this image was inspired by the biblical myth of the Behemoth (a land creature) battling Leviathan(a sea-monster)
That being said I can imagine Groudon and Kyogre were inspired from the same myth roughly.
