I bought a fancy Dyson baggless vacuum cleaner a few weeks ago at a yard sale for $15. The lady said it worked fine but made a horrible noise and she did not know how long it would last "maybe years maybe seconds". It looked good so I took a chance on it. Today I dragged it out and used it. It worked great and as soon as I started I knew what it was. It had something hung up in it. I took the bottom apart and found a nylon zip tie that was dragging the back side of the beater bar. It is back together now and is just like new.
