Murphy Bed
Most of you have probably seen a Murphy Bed before: it's those
beds you see in comedic films and shows that are standing against the
wall or in a closet, and someone walks by and it and lands on their
heads. When I was a kid, I wanted one so I could catch a burglar, but
what would probably have happened was I would bonk my sister, then
it'd be my turn to be the burglar, and she'd bonk it on me. Repeat
until parents yell at you. And no, I didn't name myself after the beds; I accidentally found out they were called Murphy beds some months ago.
According to the Wikipedia article on Murphy Beds
(http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Murphy_bed), the inventor's name was
William Lawrence Murphy, and it's rumored he wanted to woo an opera
singer, but at that time it was considered improper for a woman to
be in a man's bedroom, so he got around it by taking the bed out of
the bedroom as much as possible.
If your living space is limited, I recommend considering one, just
be sure to follow safety precautions and local laws and such.
