So this is my little baby cockatiel... Isn't she adorable???
I adore this bird already :3 I am totally spoiling her... I knew it was gonna be costly working at a pet store! I won't actually earn anything... >.>;;;!
She has one helluva big mohican... It's not quite so huge really, the photo didn't really flatter her !!

She's shy and doesnt really express herself much. Today she started nibbling my hair while I was answering all the messages I got on FA, which is so lovely. I've never had a really tame cockatiel, jsut budgies and lovebirds which I hand reared myself. I really didn't expect this bird to be so trusting, the way she started off she was biting the crap out of me XD But she's ok now, just a bit flighty.
If people look carefully at her, they will see her feet are not normal. It's not immediately obvious, but they're curled up. I don't know if they will get stronger and unfold a bit more, she is using them better now. So I hope she will be ok.

a mohican? is that what you call their lil crown thingy? been wondering what ya call it ...
we have a bunch of these in a cage. they keep breeding. its funny to see how each one is different.
two new babies creept out of their nests the other day too. a yellow one with black spots (this is an oddball) and a dark one with pretty normal coloration.

Hmmmm I am unsure exactly, only a matter of weeks. I think she is about a mont, I really don't know, because she was living in my mum's aviary outside and she didn't really tell me when she hattched or anything. ^^ But she's very young and looks it I think... Have you had tiels before too ?
Looks like Lunch .....
But I kid she is cute and it is good to hear that she is becoming more social. If I know my bird logic these birds can live quite a long life if well cared for and they really need to be socialized other wise they can get into some bad habits.
Of course all of this I could be wrong as I know more about cats than birds. If I am wrong please tell me as I am always willing to learn.

nooo dunt eet hur :<!
But you're rigt, birds can be very badly behaved if you dn't train them or spend enoguh time with them. She's very good actually just scared atm. Birds are a lot like children, they reckon they have the minds of 5 year olds. Atleast thats right for some of the bigger species. Tiels I think live about 12 years average though I may be wrong! I have lots of experience with birds and I find them so wonderful as companions.

Cockateils are the best x3 So friendly. I luff mine to death.
She has the gimpy babeh feet! XD
On a humerous cockateil related note, mine (a boy) is completely obsessed with boobs. Whenever he's sitting on any of my female friends, no matter how they sit, stand, or lie, he instantly runs down and sits on their tits.
So yeah, apparently they really /do/ learn from watching their owner xP

Well... not yet, she is very quiet, but she's started bobbing her head so I do it back to her. She also sometimes makes a little normal chirpy noise. But she really isn't very talkative. I hope I can teach her some sounds or something. They are very good at whistling as I am sure you know :P
She is slowly getting more inquisitive tohugh, she keeps leaving me now when I am sat with her, she will slide down my arm or back and run around looking at things and tilting her head. It's so adorable. I hope she is happy.
I have no idea what toys o treats I could try with her, most of my other birds have never been interested in anything really. It would be nice to find her a treat I can give her to boost her confidence and her learning. She's a bit odd because when she eats her foo she leaves the bits that tiels seem to pick out! The sunflower seed sand nuts get ignored. XD
