[Creature Xchange] Prehistoric Horse Monster Thing
For Arkneos404 VIA the Creature Exchange.
1 - What parts of your prompt were written well and easy to understand? Was there anything the writer of the prompt could improve on or include next time they create a prompt?
To be 100% honest, even though I was more or less given free reign of the design, I found the prompt to be way too strict. While I was given several animals to choose from, I had to include at least element from the others listed. I sort of ended up dragging my feet trying to get it too work since no matter what concept I came up with, it always looked to crowded. I truly feel that the design could have been so much stronger if I could have been allowed to keep things a little simpler.
I was also confused when asked to make the characters "natural" colors, but stated that blue was a favorite since these things really contradict each other in my mind.
2 - Please explain how you interpreted the prompt to create your design. Which features did you use? Did you stick to the chosen palette or make changes to it? Does the design you created have any special abilities or quirks?
I basically went for a clydesdale with bear claws, elk horns and elephant tusks.
Since I was asked to base the character off a specific culture, I went for an ice age/prehistoric culture since it really seemed to fit (especially since elk, mammoths, bear and (I'm pretty sure) horses are all critters that neanderthals would have encountered), though it could probably pass as a faux Native American culture if the person I designed this for so wishes it.
