I just couldn't let the winter of 2015 go without drawing something about it - having once lived in the northeastern USA over two decades ago.
This mini-sketch depicts my bobcat 'fursona' having to deal with shoveling snow from his home to the mailbox in the front yard. No doubt, many of you in the Northeast (as well as out in the Midwest) are undergoing a similar scenario this very week!
Seeing news footage of blizzard-ravaged cities like Boston bring back similar memories of living in suburban Long Island, and shoveling all that deep snow, not only on the front walk, but on the sidewalk in front of our home in Elmont, NY... not to mention the driveway at the side of the same house. (I used to think to myself, while working on the latter area, "Why did Dad decide to widen the driveway [back in the late 1960s], to accommodate two cars?!")
Well, think positive, everybody... Winter can't last forever... Or can it?!

I was thinking of rendering a gag of this nature... In it, a dragon offers his services (to use his fire breathing the melt the snow on a walkway) for a next-door neighbor, who (in turn) says, "If you do a good job, I'll pay you,"... but actually reneges on the deal. The dragon is disgusted, but actually does nothing to retaliate, and walks off. The neighbor, thinking he got something for nothing, decides to take a stroll later that day... but he ends up slipping and sliding on his walkway! (Apparently, the dragon's melting of the snow simply turned it into water - which, due to the frigid temperatures, eventually turned into ice! The dragon was waiting for this to happen, returns to the scene, and tells said neighbor, "If you want me to melt the ice, that will cost you twice as much!"
If I don't do this gag idea as a drawing, I might settle for writing this as a short story. Wait and see, anyway!

If it will make you feel any better, Rainbowdragon, my part of Florida once had temperatures in the 30s, a few years ago. It became so cold, that iguanas - seeking shelter up in some trees - died, and began falling off the branches, like apples at harvest time!
And there's a remote chance that my area will be experiencing these frigid temperatures again, beginning tonight (February 18th)! *sigh* I'd better break out the winter jacket, just in case...
