What's he looking for?

I know it's a rough doodle, but I honestly really like it. I think because it suggests a story. I like pictures like that ....

I did this a while back, but I decided to add color this morning just because ya know.

If I remember I was going along with a storyline where young men have to go out into the wilderness to find their inner being and compassion for the world around them. I can't remember if there were more of these sketches that I just forgot about or if this was the only one, but I'm pretty sure there was a deeper story behind this.

And thanks for the comment, I can honestly say I haven't had someone look for the story that is behind my drawings, and if I have it was only once or twice.

It probably caught my attention because I like art like that. I once started writing a story about a prehistoric tribe of people who send boys through a coming-of-age trial similar to that. I shelved it because I wasn't happy with how it was going, but someday I'll pull it back out -- I still really want to finish that one.

Anyway, if you do run across more of yours like this that you haven't posted, I'd enjoy seeing them.

I'd love to read it when you do post the story, I'm really into self-discovery/journey based storylines. I'll try to sift though my old folders when I get the chance and I'll let you know if I do find anymore; however it is likeley that I deleted the rest of them.

Well, I might just pull that one back out sooner than expected, then ....
