These are the voyages of the starship, Enterprise.
Her five year mission to seek out new life, and new civilizations.
To bodly go where no man has gone before...
I just love the original series! Especially Mc Coy.
But to lay rest to the argument of picard vs kirk... Sorry but I gotta go with the archeologist over the egotist.
Original can be found here. http://www.furaffinity.net/view/15677049/

I have quite a few personal issues with Enterprise. Like how the first 3 seasons dont matter because they messed up the established cannon so much thier only choice was to hit the universal reset button. It's not the only thing that soured me to the series but that is a major one. 4th season I saw a hint of it finally starting to head in the right direction but the damage from the previous 3 seasons had already been done with a majority of the viewers that i'm not surprised they decided to just yank the plug.
It did have such potential. Heck they introduced the Andorians early enough that they could have easily taken a what if scenario like. Well the Andorians were allies to the Federation in TOS... well what if it wasn't always like that. What if we were actually at war with them at one point. Say they ransacked a planet that Earth had only just recently colonized. Now earth has a reason to fight. And that's just one possible way they could have gone if they had just left the *** time machine alone. v_v

Yeah I agree the entire time altering thing has done some damage but this is nothing compared to the new Star Trek movies which seriously fucked up everything far worse. Still I enjoyed Enterprise for what it was as it still followed what Star Trek was all about. Now its been turned into some brainless action nonsense. Time travel and such fascinates me a lot, there is a point to it when it comes to story. But at least Enterprise didn't mess up the timeline as it would've just went on just fine but thanks to the new movies.... now its been grossly fucked up beyond reason and now its known as the alternate Star Trek timeline.
I rather enjoyed the recent movies and they did go on record saying that this wasn't really a reboot as more of an alternate dimension. Plus Mrs. Roddenberry spearheadded the entire production for those two movies herself because she wanted the Star Trek universe that her husband originally envisioned. SOrry to say it but after Roddenberry died Paramount pretty much took over and did what they wanted with it.
Gene Rodenberry was actually against the Borg to begin with because he didn't like the concept of space zombies. Instead he wanted to go with an entirely different enmy known as the ISC, whom for short descripotion were supposed to be better tech, better organized, and all around general threat as they imposed thier idea of peace on everyone weather they wanted it or not. Unfortunately when he died Paramount pretty much said screw him we're going with space zombies and they continued to take liberty after liberty despite his wifes complains whom gene in his will left everything to.
Eventually she managed to wrest the rights from Paramount and went to try and reboot it, BUT she knew there were loyal fans to the original so she instead opted for the parallel reality. Technically not a reboot. They're even making a new TV series called Star Trek Renegade based after voyager where Spock is presumed dead after the Romulas sun collapsed. So the original Star Trek is still there. What they don't know is that spock is now permanently trapped in an alternate reality.
but yeah the new movies was actually her attempt to put to light the version of Star Trek that her husband Gene Roddenberry always wanted. And not the one Paramount ultimately took over and changed. And to ensure her husbands version continued she left everythign regarding the Star Trek franchise to her son. Whom I think now works for CBS or is going through CBS at least with the series.
So in regards to the JJ Abrums movies. Yeah it has it's problems but knowing that it doesn't rewrite the original cannon as released by Paramount, i'm fine with it's existance. It can go do whatever it wants to do in it's own alternate reality.
