Deep in the heart of an unexplored jungle, nestled in the heart of the untamed wilderness, lies a temple that has gone untouched for more than five hundred years, ruled by a young, beautiful and evil queen and her minions. Immortality is only fun for so long though, and with no new victims to run through her gauntlet she's grown bored and tired.
That's until two conniving explorers stumble across her keep, seeking fortune and glory by breaking into her treasure vault (let's face it, it wouldn't be an ancient ruin without a hoard in there somewhere, right?). Ren and Laura aren't too keen on being chucked into a gooey cauldron of sacrifice, so they hire three budding, intrepid explorers onto their team to do their dirty work, all while promising a cut of the gold should they happen to succeed.
But the devious queen, known only as Lilly, is as intelligent and cunning as she is mesmerising, and her gauntlet of gungy games and brutish underlings are not for the faint of heart...
Welcome to Monquehual!

This has been a long time coming, but I'm glad that it's finally ready. Here's the first part of the first episode of the little gameshow that I've thought up, which covers the first three games that take place in the jungle. How will our team cope with their first trials? What devious tricks and traps has Lilly set for them? Will they emerge unscathed or unclean?
I hope you guys have as much fun reading this as I did writing it. Hopefully it was worth the wait. Enjoy!
(I really need to get a proper logo for the thumbnail, but I'm useless at designing that sort of thing...)

Definitely a welcome addition to the WAM game show canon :) You've set a good start by having characters who come into the show with varying levels of... "commitment" so to speak... hopefully that's something that you continue to play with.
And you've written a hell of a villainess character, within the confines of the show. The "Father, is that you?" line totally sells it.
Looking forward to seeing what sort of antics are to come!

Fantastic! This was a really delightful read, with a beautifully slow build-up to the excitement of the real adventure. It was fun getting to know the characters involved, especially before each round began. As was already said, your villainess is a great feature and seeing her interact with the cast might have been one of my favourite points so far.
There's an excellent set-up here with some fun games that were a treat to see described. I can tell it's all building up to something great, so I can't wait to see where it goes from here. I wish you good luck with the rest and I look forward to seeing what happens next!

Finally, the weekend is here and I have some time to read this properly! It's a really good read! I love some of the set-ups you have going: the idea of getting blatted while hiding in the holes, disappearing from view and coming out plastered in something from the dark that you couldn't see or defend yourself against; Lilly being a very 'active' antagonist, definitely out to 'get' the players; the in-character bickering between the hosts. I have to say, my reaction to the reveal that it's supposed to be fatal life-drain slime was much the same as Kiko's - I thought it pretty dark for a game show - but it definitely sets Lilly's character up nicely, and gives the players a reason to want to take her down. And I always enjoy things I haven't seen before, so it's nice to see some of the more unusual species and character archetypes used - I know relatively few goat characters, for example (at least compared to wolves and foxes and so on), and Jonathan's more 'refined' gentlemanly character is a nice contrast. (It's also good to get a pronunciation guide for the name - I'd been reading it as MON-kweh-HWAL. :P)
Excellent work on it - I'm looking forward to seeing where you take it next! (And who gets luminous-glopped in the Cauldron! :P)

Nice work! :D I've been looking forward to this for a while and it's great to see it come to fruition at last. I definitely see the influence from Jungle Run/Legends of the Hidden Temple, and the story aspect of it is great - the part where they're looking through the jewelled mirror at Lilly brought back memories of Knightmare :)
You've got great interplay between the hosts and the contestants (and the antagonist!) - I like the idea that you can call on the hosts for help in certain games and I'm interested to see how that's going to be used :) The games are nice and imaginative and I'm already trying to imagine what they'll be faced with in the caves.
I liked your way of introducing Kiko and her appearance, it was so much more natural than I've ever done :) Is that the lucky lady in your user picture just now? I was so nervous about Leigh's hesitance and was so relieved when she got to participate and enjoyed it.
I'm looking forward to more!

A lot of really great potential here, and drawing on many different "kinds" of WAM, a limitation that a lot of other messy shows, both real and imaginary, seem hard pressed to overcome.
Only thing I'm not sure of is, the more I read it, the more I think Lilly might be just a little over the top on the evil meter, actually serving to darken the fun atmosphere a bit, but that's just perspective as a reader.
Thanks a lot for sharing your talents, and I'm eager to see what games come next!

I've just found these on my hard drive and realized I never showed you them! Some mockups I was inspired to do for the Monquehual logo - one freeform and one that resembles what you described in the story :)
