Here is the 4th chapter of Mystery of the Nexians, and first chapter to follow the villains. Thought a nice change of pace would be good, instead of focusing on the crew all the time.
Even though they are just mentioned, will still put this here. Drakenfoxes are owned by

Great metal doors of the hanger parted, as the energy field held in place, preventing air and personal being sucked out. A small shuttle slipped out between the main doors and started on its way aiming for the outer limits of the system. It went unnoticed by the other ships travelling to and from the Kino station, but to anyone paying attention, they would have seen it was a galactic government shuttle.
The Minister growled lowly as he watches the station shrink. ‘So close, so close to getting one of the highest members of the Pirate Armada and the damn Kino ruined it’ he thought, barely keeping the anger in check. Months of work, thrown away, he did not look forward to reporting this. He growled as he slammed his hand down on the arm of the chair, not caring about the metal it was made of.
“Sir, we are approaching the ship” the shuttle’s pilot said, snapping the Minister out of his thoughts. Leaning forward, he pressed the intercom button on the wall next to him. “Very good, transmit the codes and then inform the science department I would like a talk with them” he said before sitting back. “Of course, Minister” the pilot said.
The shuttle shifted as it angled towards a large ship. Sleek and silver, the Minster’s ship was a model that only high ranking members of the galactic government got. The shuttle came in through the energy field that protected the hanger and landed softly between other craft on the deck.
A ramp slowly extended as steam was ejected into the recycled air of the ship, pressuring the shuttle. Once it was pressurised, the hatch opened as the Minister walked down. At the bottom, his aide waited. “Sir, good to have you back on board” he said as he followed the wolf. The Minister glanced towards him; the lizard did well with his job, one of the two he could trust. The other being his second aide, who he knew was gathering up those from the science department on his ship.
“How did the trip to the Kino station go?” he asked as the Minister stepped into a turbolift. As the door closed, he let out a pent up growl. “Sir?” the aide asked looking at him cautionlessly. “It’s the blasted Kino!” he all but shouted in anger. His hand balled up into a fist as he hit the wall of the lift. “Ah, sir, you should keep your cool until the gym or something” the aide said. The Wolf turned and looked at him, the lizard having an orange and green colour scheme going on, standing just a bit shorter as the Minster nods.
“Besides sir, we got other things you need to work on” he said, as the Minster calmed down. He nod as he took several deep breathes calming himself down. “Of course, thanks” he said with a nod. “Not a problem sir” the aide said with a sigh of relief.
The lift came to a halt and the doors open. The Minster looked up and took a step out, the aide following him trying to keep up. “What has been happening since my trip to the station?” he asked looking at the lizard. “Well, sir. We are still doing the research you have tasked us. And ah…” he trailed off as a Red Panda stepped forward.
The Minster smiled as she approached. The Red Panda looked normal, but the light glow to her eyes and metallic right arm told anyone that she was not an organic being. A synthesized life form, or as the Minster’s scientist have said, an android, her origins were unknown. The Minster had just found her, while on a planet and she was loyal to him.
She had a slight smile, which did care warmth like an organic would. ‘She maybe an android, but she does seem to understand what it’s like to blend in’ he thought. “Sir, I have the heads of the research department like you requested” she said, in a pleasant voice. The Wolf nodded as he turns and heads for a meeting room, motioning for the group to follow.
Taking a seat at the head of the table, the scientists took seats as well, as his two aids stood beside him. “I hope you got some good news, I really could use some” the Minster said. “Well, we been studying communications between the ships of the Armada, and sorry to say sir, we are no closer to finding their base then we were before” one said. The Minster sighed as he rubbed his forehead. “I said good news” he said looking at them.
“Well sir, we do have a theory we have yet to test” one said. The Wolf looked up and at him. “Go on” the Minster said simply. “Well, we may have a way to track the Nexian ships, to find where the Nexus is. All we have to do is get a Nexian ship to appear when the device is in the area” the scientist said. “How would it work?” he asked, staring at the scientist. “Well, sir. In theory the device would be deployed and scan a Nexian ship when it ‘phases’ hopefully giving us the information we need. But…” the scientist said as he trailed off.
The Minster stared at him, as the stare slowly turned into a glare. “But?!” he said trying to get the scientist to answer. “But sir, there are some problems. The device itself would be about the size of a large satellite to an unmanned station. We don’t really have the skill to make it. It would take some creative construction to make it” another scientist interrupted drawing the Minster’s attention. “Go on” he said. “Well, there are really only a handful of people in the galaxy that has researched things like this. And most are hard to get too” she said. “Who are they, show me a list” the Minster said.
The scientist nodded as she brought up a list, and showed the hologram to the entire room. The Minster studied and nodded, “Some of these are hard to find. But what about her?” The scientists looked at the one he had selected. “Well, she is young, brilliant technician… you know, for a taur” the scientist said. “Yeah, she had a few prototype machines, one is rumoured to track Drakenfoxes” a second said. “But there is a rumour saying she is a part of the Pirate Armada” another said.
The Minster sat back in the chair as he thought this over. “Part of the Armada, you say?” he asked. “Well that’s what some say” the first scientist said. “Be like taking two hanging crows with one stone” he said out loud. “Sir?” the aid asked. “Contact the Inflator’s we got within this branch. Tell them to send one of their best operatives to me” the Minster said.
He enhanced the hologram as he stared at the smiling vixen taur. He smiled as he looked down at the name and back up at the profile pic. “We will get this Christie, and she will help us” he said.
