I had a red tail that lived in my big oak tree. used to see him every day. then one day.. no more hawk. a few weeks later I found (most) of him in our dried out pool. :/ Shoulda kept his skull...
A few months later, I saw a new red tail on a lamp post two houses down, so maybe he spread the love a little.

It was sad, cause i loved watching him. But in a morbid kind of way, when I found him, all that was left were the feathers, and they were spread out in an open wing. Morbid but pretty. the skull i actually found like a week later outside of the pool. so I am suspecting it had a run in with the local cat pack.
