A short story, featuring a thunder kitsune I decided to try and make. The only expectation to a rule I got. And I had fun doing this, I hope you have fun reading it.
Though the Thunder Kitsune is still currently unnamed, and I hope I pulled off a Kitsune well.

A Bird of Prey screeched as it flew around the base of the mountain, diving towards the forest that lay at the base. A Town sat not too far, about a mile from the mountains. From time to time, from the central mountain noises that sounded like thunder often were heard from there. Local legends say that it was cause of a storm elemental, trapped in the stone, only able to make thunder and occasional lights, that looked like lighting, as it tried to escape.
Many an expedition had gone to the mountain, to study it, and solve the mystery of it. Extensive research went out, checking everything from weather, air, dirt and local magnetic fields, to try and find a scientific proof of what was happening. Often it seemed like they figured it out, but once they get to the bottom, the thunder returns as well as the light show. Some scientists have even claimed to hear thunder clap at a low level of sound, right behind them and the sound of someone giggling.
The current team looked around, as they checked their equipment. Joined by a team of storm chasers, they were determined to be the ones that solved the cause of the mountain. “What is this mountain called again?” a storm chaser asked looking towards one of the scientists. “Well, cause of the legend, most of the locals have dubbed it, Thundering Peak” he said looking from his portable station towards the chaser. “Heh, well let’s see if we can prove there is nothing trapped here” he said.
Night started to fall as the sun sank over the horizon. From a crag, a pair of electric blue eyes watched the team, as they sparkled a little with delight and playfulness. The vixen’s dark grey fur helped her blend into the rocks for the most part. Her hair was almost black, but more a dark grey. The ‘gloves’ and ‘socks’ being electric blue like her eyes. And her two tails tipped off with electric blue fur as well. A simple tunic covered her chest with simple cloth pants that covered up to her knees, yet had a hole to let her tails free.
The Thunder Kitsune, giggled to herself as she started to climb her hidden path back up towards the peak. Sitting on a ledge, still hidden from view, yet having a good look at the team, she lifted her arms. Waving them around in a certain fashion similar to a dance, she used her magic to start having Ball Lighting appear and disappear around the mountain, causing the team to look up.
Their voices reached her positions as the team went for their recording devices to document the strange phenomenon. The kitsune giggled to herself, as she started to wave her arms in another pattern. Her tails joined in as the sway continued. “Let’s see if they enjoy a little music” she spoke in a young maiden’s voice. As she spoke, thunder of various tunes was heard, confusing the team as to what was happening.
“I think it’s a tune, like someone using thunder as music” a chaser said as they listened. Indeed, despite the crack of thunder, it did seem to be low in volume and almost song like. The team listened as she played, the flashes of ball lighting turning to flash in rhyme of the music as they watched in awe. “You know, I think some things are best left unexplained” a scientist said as they watched and listened to the phenomenon.
The kitsune kept it up for ten minutes before her arms and tails stopped. Her twin tails went to a gentle wag as she smiled looking at the team. “I am sure, Inari approves of me doing this” she said before she turned and moved from the ledge. She giggled as she walked back to the part of the cave of her home, ready to preform her nightly ceremony to the shrine of Inari.
