This is a new artistic concept by Boom called a Sketch Blob. It's like a ref sheet but features different poses, situations, and clothes your character can be in. Kind of like a one piece "About Me". If your interested you can learn more by visiting http://www.furaffinity.net/view/15395903/.
STORY CIRCLE: Working Clockwise from upper-left to lower-left
BOOM THE BABYSITTER:
Yosh's parents were in need of a sitter for their little quacker while visiting family down south. Fortunately one name quickly came to mind who was known around the neighborhood they were staying at, Boom.
Boom came to the door all ready to show the little dino-ducky a wonderful day while Yosh's mom went to the local spa with her mother-in-law and Yosh's dad went to do some water sports with his father and brother.
As it was a beautiful day, Boom strapped Yosh into her handy-dandy kiddy carrier and took little Yosh out for a gleeful jog about the neighborhood. Singing and pointing out all the neat sights in which were new and exciting to the little tot who can't help but giggle in delight.
GRUMPY DUCK BUTT:
"Time go go!" called Mrs. O'Ducky.
Yosh looked up from within the ball pit where he was having the time of his life with his newest friend, Lizzie.
"C'mon, sweetie," coached Mrs. O'Ducky. "It's time to go home and get your nap."
Yosh's face narrowed.
"NO!" he quacked.
Mrs. O'Ducky came towards the ball pit to pluck her son up.
"Time to go, dear," she said as calmly as she could.
"NO!" Yosh exclaimed. "NO! NO! NO! NOOOOO!"
Needless to say he wasn't a happy quacker as his mom picked him up and carried him out kicking-and-screaming before having the fight of her life getting him into his car seat.
IT'S GABOO TO SEE YOU!:
Yosh was lost in his own world as he self-soothed himself by rocking upon his padded tushie. That was until he heard a warm and welcoming voice calling to him from behind.
"Hey, Yosh!"
Yosh turned to see his pal, Tippie, making her way towards him.
"Gaboo!" he chirped with glee as he knew what was coming next. A great big hug.
DO YOU WANT A BABY SISTER?:
Mr. and Mrs. O'Ducky brought Yosh to the couch and sat on both sides of him.
"Hey, sport!" his dad said with a big smile. "Mom and I have great news for you!"
"What?" asked Yosh as he perked up and began to get restless. "Is it a toy?"
"Better," cooed Mrs. O'Ducky. "You're going to be a big brother!"
"Huh?" wondered Yosh as his excitement seemed to fade.
"That's right, champ!" exclaimed Mr. O'Ducky. "Soon you'll have a baby sister!"
Yosh's eyes grew wide and teary.
"WAAAH!" he bawled. "I no want a baby sister!"
Mr. and Mrs. O'Ducky faced each other as Yosh stormed off to his room.
"That could've gone better," said Mrs. O'Ducky.
"Maybe we should've gone with the ice cream and then telling him?" asked Mr. O'Ducky.
"Perhaps," Mrs. O'Ducky sighed. "We'll remember that on the day that she hatches."
"Nothing builds a bond like ice cream," commented Mr. O'Ducky.
"Speaking of," said Mrs. O'Ducky. "Could you get me a quart of peat moss and strawberry? Your daughter and I have a sweet tooth."
Mr. O'Ducky chuckled before replying, "Of course. And I'll be sure to get Yosh a watermelon smoothie to cheer him up, too."
GET BACK HERE!:
"Nishi!" cried Yosh as he desperately chased after his Yoshi pal. "GIVE ME BACK MY SHORTS!"
Nishi giggled as he wrapped the diaper that was intended for his friend around his head like a bonnet and held Yosh's shorts outward.
"Torro! Torro!" he exclaimed while wiggling the shorts outward.
Yosh dashed to grab his shorts but Nishi pulled them away just before the dino-ducky could get them.
"Ole!" cried Nishi with a smile.
"Okay, Nishi," said Macaroni. "That's enough. We need to finish getting Yosh changed so we can all head out to the park together."
"Can I keep the hat?" asked Nishi with a grin.
Macaroni Penguin reached into the pack of diapers she had and pulled out another.
"Sure," she said. "Now hand me Yosh's shorts so we can finish things up and he doesn't have an accident."
"Okay," agreed Nishi as he threw Yosh's shorts towards the yellow mommy penguin. Yosh was making another dive for them and found himself slamming into Macaroni as a result.
"Up you go!" cooed Macaroni as she diapered up Yosh and helped him with his shorts. "Good to go!"
"Anywhere you want," chuckled Nishi.
"You wait!" proclaimed Yosh. "I'll be a big boy like you before you know it!"
"Now, now," said Macaroni as she reached for both boys' hands. "No rush growing up. Let's just go and have fun."
PLAYTIME!
Yosh's friends, Tacki, Toroth, Kaffre, MJ, Ozzie, Tavi, and Zee-Zee were all gathered for a big picnic at the park. Yosh was so excited because he recently got a brand new red wagon. The wagon made it super easy to bring his favorite plushies along to play with his pals.
"KAZOOTLES!" he cried.
Zee-Zee the squirrel raised his hand and hopped around.
"KAZOOTLES, YOSH!" he called back. "Nice wagon!"
Yosh got with all his little friends where they all took turns playing with Yosh's wagon. Either hauling their toys around in it or getting rides themselves by an eager Yosh who couldn't get enough of feeling like he was driving like his mom or dad did in the family car.
SLEEPY SWEETHEART:
"Doesn't he just look adorable?" cooed Mrs. O'Ducky.
Yosh liked how comfy the jammies were. He also liked the bright designs and how it had his favorite shape on them, stars. But the cap. The cap just didn't quite feel right.
Yosh reached up to pull the cap off but was stopped by his mom.
"Oh, no, sweetie," she said. "Now smile for the nice camera lady!"
Yosh felt the cap flop against his back.
"Ungh," he groaned while putting his hand to his face.

The photo was taken.
"Oh, Yosh," said his mother while working to reposition everything. "Can we try that again, please?"
"I wanna' go nappy," pouted Yosh.
"Hold on, dear," she said. "Just give the nice camera lady holding the birdie a smile for me and we'll get you all cozy in your car seat."
Yosh was so tired and the cap just kept making him feel funny. Why couldn't he just snuggle the cap? It was soft like a blanket and that's all he really wanted. A cozy blanket to rest while spending time with his plushie pals in his crib.

Hehe, aw, how neat! :D So these were the bunch'a stories ya mentioned. It's cool how a bunch'a pictures and visuals can give ya some inspirational fun. :3 They're all neat and easy to get through, and just fun lil bits'a Yosh's life and adventures with other buddies and family. (:
Haha I always hear the phrase 'slice of life' and maybe that's kinda what it is? Jut gettin' small parts of someone's life?

It's neat you bring up Slice of Life as I never heard of that term until I gave FiM Fiction a try. Though I would imagine this is an example of such a concept now that I think on it. In this case it would be perhaps more a Life Pie with various slices to choose from. :)
This was a wonderful surprise by
Boom and gave me plenty of fun things to do as I waited on hold for certain folks yesterday. Between thinking of fun stories and downloading Metroid music I was pretty stoked amidst all the run around I was getting.
*Snugs* Thanks very much for checking this out, Nishi. I always love your thoughts. :)

Thank you. When
Boom surprised me with this I just felt inspiration flood over me. So I went with it. :)
Speaking on stories and inspiration I should be able to read your story today. So I'm eager to hear the hard work you've done and giving some solid feedback.

It means a lot to hear that from someone as talented at bringing art to life as you, Sparks. I follow you for how you always find exciting ways to either keep a certain style going to tell a little story or to see what new clever artistic style you may be looking to use to further Sparks or your other characters.
What I love about art the most is how openly it can be interpreted. Kind of like how you've done similar pictures of Ricky and Sparks. The character, clothes, or other interchangeable aspects can make a huge difference on how one views a given image.
In this work by
Boom she went off of her own thoughts on how she views Yosh. This is something I particularly enjoy since the view of each artist who has drawn him has added to his overall character. She may not have had each story I wrote to go with the pictures in mind when she drew them but that's what makes it fun. Seeing how ideas can be bounced back-and-forth to make greater tales and inspiration.
I'm always eager to see what you have in store with all your characters and friends. I also hope that you are able to bundle some of the Sparks and Ricky works into a book as 2013 and 2014 definitely could come together to make a most chu'rific children's picture book. You couldn't make money off of it but I know any Pokemon fans in your family or around here would love it! :)
