I know a lot of furries go through the sex-change operation willy-nilly like it is nothing, but a big difference here is that I wanted to write a realistic story.
Just because the operation exists does not make it available.
IRL, the operation is difficult, it is expensive, and lots of surgeons don't want to do it. Therefore the operation should only be done when it is absolutely necessary.
Micha's desire was to be a male, for a male identity. He knows he does not need a penis for that.
The only people who think they need a penis to identify themselves as men are the insecures who only think with their gonads in the first place. Those are the people who need a kick in the gonads.

Oy, be careful, trans-sexuality can be a touchy subject for a lot of people.
And I can easily see some people wanting to be comfortable looking at themselves in the mirror <.<
But that does explain why 'Ty' is willing to still take him to bed - the picture on your profile seems to make it pretty clear Ty's straight, so unless you believe sexuality is something you can 'choose', and can therefore make exceptions to, it'd be pretty unlikely he'd be comfortable with a male body.
Not impossible, mind, just pretty unlikely.

Yeah, I understand how touchy this can be, as I have a couple transgender friends myself.
What I have depicted in this comic are all meant to be each characters' personal preferences and not a generalization of how these types of characters should act (defined 'stereotype').
I had actually shown the script for this comic to one of my more sensitive TG friends a few months before drawing this up, and she loved how I handled the subject. So having her approval gave me confidence that all this would be okay.

The comic's wonderful - one of the better portrayals I've seen.
I was responding to one of your posts (but Furaffinity seems to have screwed up the formating a bit? Either that, or I hit the wrong post when trying to respond)
Specifically this part:
"The only people who think they need a penis to identify themselves as men are the insecures who only think with their gonads in the first place. Those are the people who need a kick in the gonads. "
I don't see any way to read that which isn't 'People who feel uncomfortable seeing the wrong sex in the mirror need to suck it up and stop whining'
Heck, I'm pretty sure that's not even what you're trying to say, given it clashes so much with the general attitude you've portrayed in the art, which is why I said 'Oy, careful' rather than 'Oy, stop being just an ass'
It's just the only way I can see to read it.

Hopefully I can clarify. Ty is more than welcome to correct me where I'm wrong. I don't know him personally, so this is just pure speculation on my part.
Ty seems to understand the difference between sex and gender. A lot of people are raised to think they are just synonyms of each other, when in actuality, they mean different things. Sex refers to the physical characteristics that separate male and female. This refers to not just genitalia, but also secondary sexual characteristics (i.e. breasts and wider hips in females, larger muscle mass and more robust bone structure in males), hormone levels, and chromosomes. Gender refers to how an individual identifies oneself based on their sex. As Chaz Bono once said, sex is between the legs, gender is between the ears.
Micha is a transgender character, meaning his gender does not match his sex. Female sex, male gender; as opposed to someone who is cis-gender (C.I.S. being an acronym for Comfortable In Skin; someone whose sex and gender match perfectly). Yes, he identifies as male, uses male pronouns, and has taken hormone therapy and exercise to make his body fit more closely to how he pictures himself, but it is implied (and later confirmed by a comment Ty made a while ago) that Micha has yet to undergo reassignment surgery, and thus is still female from the waist down.
His sex is still female, sex being the key word here. Hence heteroSEXual. Ty is still staunchly a 0 on the Kinsey scale, but heterosexual and hetero-romantic aren't necessarily dependent on one another. While Micha is considered a male, Ty being attracted to and bedding with him while still being straight isn't too much of a stretch.

Oops! Only just now noticed that this comment is here.
Pretty much everything you said there is correct.
The only slight thing I would point out is that Micha has no plans for SRS for a couple reasons: Female-to-male operation is a very difficult thing to do considering what needs to be done to the body to make it happen, so much that most surgeons do not even want to do it; and secondly, Micha has become satisfied with his new image he has now, and fixing what is under his shorts he thinks would be unnecessary (However, Micha has been given a gift of a strapless dildo that is custom-made to look just like a natural part of his body which he can wear and use whenever he wants to).

Understandable that this comment fell under the radar, considering this submission is rather old XD
And I suppose that's true. For some transpeople, the dysmorphia associated with their genitals not matching their identity can be too overwhelming to handle, but I suppose there are some who find it livable, if not desirable. I personally know only two transwomen, and no transmen, so I am woefully under experienced in such a topic. Though I looked up how SRS works, and I can see how it can be rather risky and difficult. But yes, as long as Micha feels comfortable with his body, no reason for him to do anything he doesn't feel comfortable or compelled to do
