its totally worth the price and wait. i am not a very patient person. i waited i think 4 months for the piece i commissioned. im not entirely sure on the wait period i will have to check. but i will HAPPILY do it again the next time ive got cash set aside and she is open for work

The wait was two months, hun. The batch was opened in October, and I finished your piece in December. ;)

Considering that I'm active duty military AND training to become a fighter pilot, two months is a VERY good wait time. Heck, even four months would be expected and acceptable with all that I have going on.

Hah! Oh gosh, that bites.

All my recent commissioners have been really great and patient with me with my training-induced delays, and I keep everyone updated in suite. I guess I'm just a bit oversensitive to 'wait times' lately since I'm used to cranking out commissions within a week, so the 1-2 month wait is more of a shock to myself than anyone else, I think. And in the rare times that someone does expect their piece sooner, again, I repeat that I'm active duty and training to be a fighter pilot... And I know for a fact that two months is a decent wait time, even for artists who aren't military. :P

we are all humans. and if poeple want rush rush arts either they can make special request if it can be done.

or go to a professional studio that is a licence business.

i understand you are a professional artist. but you are not advertising as a company. if poeple want such protection and legal guarantees then they need to go hire an art studio that is licensed and charges ten times more. other wise people need to treat there artist for hire like a human and understand that you and other artist here are individuals and doing your best to share your talents during your hectic busy lives

Ah yeah. While I don't accept rush jobs anymore, (i.e; deadline within a month or so,) if someone needs a piece by a certain date for an event or something, I do my best to do so, as long as I'm given enough time to plan for it. X) My limit these days is 2-3 months in advance heads up time, since I never know until quite literally the night before when the squadron decides to send me on a weekend cross-country excursion, hah. And then they wonder why we complain about being so tired all the time.

And oh yeah, I totally understand. Like I said, all my recent commissioners over the past few batches have been super great. It's just when I need to keep justifying my wait time that it gets tiring. Hence why I do my weekly updates during intense training evolutions, and I always include a commission update and 'current wait time' section in those. That way, everyone can stay up on my schedule and nothing is a surprise. I also provide 'I have an exam this week!' updates, too, for the same reasons, haha. And like I said before, it could just be me being sensitive. *shrug* But it is also discouraging, after a while, to be asked about my wait time and my needing to justify it. I'm sure that most of it just comes from most people not understanding the pressure that flight school puts on you, and the fact that I'm beyond lucky to be able to do both that and art these days. But again, two months wait time is a very standard waiting length, so I think it's mostly me putting too much pressure on myself, lol.

as long as the artist is active and working on there commissions in order there is nothing really to worry.

Yah. And it's preferable that they update frequently, either journals, polls, art, etc. Don't get me started about waiting on artists who go AWOL... Still don't know the fate of my fursuit maker.
