Well, here it is, the last story of 2014 from me. Hope you guys enjoy this.
And before anyone points it out, I don't know fully how stars are formed, I only know the basic info on it, so no idea if the flashes were correct or not.
I hope you all have a happy new year as well.

A rare event was unfolding in a nebula one that I know a few groups would be watching. Freya and Christie worked, finding the correct orbital trajectory from which we could examine the event from a safe distance. Close enough to watch it, but far away to avoid any radiation or other things, as well as able to escape and not be sucked in.
I smiled a little as the hanger had a large table added, and had some food and drink on it, supplied by Rita. We chose here, so Alruna wouldn’t be alone and we can all watch this event. I picked up and ate some cheese, still surprise that food among the furs and humans from other planets were similar. There was a slightly different taste, but it was still the same.
“So, we are at a safe place?” Gem asked looking over at Christie. The Vixen taur was busy setting up a recorder, to preserve the event. “Hmm? Oh yeah, we are, Freya and I made sure of that” she said with a nod looking at the coyote. “Good, still doesn’t it take ages for a star to grow?” she asked. “Yeah, but for this part, the flashes of light we will see will be the core starting to draw in gasses from the nebula. That’s what we are here to see” Christie said as Gem nodded and turned to look out the window.
Necetra looked over at Serra and smiled as she leaned against the anthro Drakenfox. “So, have you seen anything like this?” she asked. “Hmm, can’t recall. Perhaps” Serra said, as she looked down at Necetra. But the cyborg dragon smiled as she hugged her.
Alruna turned and looked down at me as I walked over. “Thanks, for having this down here. It helps ease the loneliness” the Birdplane said. “No problem. And hey, next station you may get a pilot. I will try and make sure it happens” I said as I put my hand on her. The Birdplane smiled, before Gem came over. “It’s starting” she said as we all turned and looked towards the nebula as flashes of light started.
The event was seen from several systems as Rita and her younger sister Ayami watched the flashes as a new start was being born. “Something like this is rare. Hopefully we can get the footage back to the planet” Ayami said as Rita placed a hand on her shoulder. “We will little sis, we will” she said.
On a planet, Sif looked up from her spot to see the distant flashes in the nebula. It was weaker on the planet, but still visible. “May the worlds those flashes spawn, bring out worthy warriors” she said, as she lifted her Warhammer and walked into the cold.
A Kino sat at the controls of her ship as she looked over the readings coming from the star. “Heh, maybe these will help us understand better, of how stars are formed” she said, as she looked back up.
And now, one last ship flew by, stopping briefly of its call for friendship as it too recorded the events for later. It waited, and waited, before going off, continuing its search for friends.
