Wings Out of Avalon - Chapters 1 & 2

Well, here it is, my first submission. I've been bouncing ideas around in my head for a modern fantasy setting for some time now and finally decided to sit my lazy posterior down and get to serious world building a little over three months ago. Around thanksgiving, I thought I was ready to get writing and after about three weeks of solid effort and another week or two of annoying a friend to proofread it, here is the result. Just a heads-up, it's a bit long (Just shy of 11k words) so grab a snack/drink before diving in. I plan for this to turn into a long term project with quite a few more chapters to follow this one of approximately similar lengths. Anyway, if myself or my proofreader missed anything I apologize, and welcome any critique.
