Advent Calendar 2014, day 18
Candles really make a room look extra Christmassy - so many shinies to reflect the light!
"Careful, coming through, naked flame!" called TJ as he picked his way through the throng of cubs, batting Tavi accidentally with his tail and eeping as Yosh's fake snow narrowly missed his flickering candle. A big fox like him had no problems, though, even with his crutches, and he successfully got the candle through to the other side and set it carefully on the table!
Happy Christmas, TJ! Thanks so much for posting my daily picture while I was away this month; you're always there with a helping hand and a friendly word for everyone! And you're so super-clever and funny and silly, it's a delight to hear from you!

Thank you, TJ for helping our favorite clever squiggle. That was very kind of you to help ensure the tradition carried on without a break.
I like candles, too. Especially when in places like described here. The way they flicker off reflective surfaces really creates quite the mood. :)

Candles do make a festive addition to any Christmas scene, I just hope the effect isn't lost because of the more gianter flames in the fireplace...
Anyway, he did do a good job as a substitute squirrel during your absence and it's always nice to have a few bigger cubs around to help with assembling toys and reading labels and things *hugs TJ*

Kazootles! The story just keeps getting better-and-better as the room keeps filling to capacity with fun things and great friends.
I love how other parents are coming in to make sure everything works out okay with the kids. MJ's mom, Zena, and Zed have so far made quite an appearance with wonderful participation. My favorite so far being Zena cleverly finding a way to keep the jingly bells away from the kids. <LoL!>
Are you familiar with the trick some people pull on parents? The one where they purposely buy a noisy toy for a birthday as they know the kid will love it and keep up the noises long after the guest leaves? My wife and I had that done to us a few times. Though the most bothersome toy our little guy had was this firetruck that sounded like it was about to fall apart as it moved slowly over the rug and beeped. It'd get stuck under the couch and you'd have to get down and reach to try and stop it.
That particular firetruck was hidden by me on a few occasions. But my wife had fun with how it bugged me so she'd find it, give it to our son, and tell him to have at it. So even parents get each other with the noisy toy. :)
I also like the idea of getting oranges in the stockings. I know my son loves those little oranges that go by either "Cuties" or "Halos" here. Maybe I'll have to tell the Mrs. to pick some up so Santa can give him a Cutie Halo.
Thanks so much for sharing this series. It's such a delight to follow and see how everyone helps to make it even better. Just as all our friendships make life better for everyone throughout the year. :)
