What's my life for?
Does anyone know the answer to this?
Even for themselves.
Does anyone know their purpose?
And if you know your purpose
does that mean it is a meaningful?
For years I've been told
that I'm a 'Good Writer'.
But what does that mean?
It sure doesn't mean anything
with regard to the writing I do.
If it did
People would comment on my actually writing
instead of broadly stating how I'm a 'Great Writer'
Am I a good speaker?
I'm told that I do great a public speaking.
But what is it about my abilit to speak
in which is actually so good?
Tell me?
It's been said
that I'm an inspiration.
But inspiration does not come from an individual.
Inspiration comes from the places and faces
in which are a part of an individual's life.
So am I really all that inspiring?
It is said I'm a good husband and father.
But what kind of good husband brings pain to his family?
Brings tears to his wife's eyes
as a result of his continuous failures?
Troubles that financially quash our family.
Failures that make it impossible
to escape
the downward spiral
into sorrow.

While there are a few typos, I do like the rawness of this piece as it pleads out to your humanity. I've been doing "vent" works on my Facebook page lately, and this piece resembles one of those pieces.
Its a reminder of the feeling of isolation, that even through prose that expresses how one feels and why a solution is still unobtainable because the piece doesn't provide a "way out" of the rut. I also liked the 2nd person elements interjected, raking at the audience to respond even though all the questions are rhetorical - which gives the work even more of that feeling of isolation.

Knowing you are still writing poetry and prose makes me very happy. Perhaps you may be able to share some pieces with me at some point? It's been way too long since I've read some of your work.

I'm glad you can use your creativity to cope with life circumstances. I know you, too, have your fair share. You also are a very hard worker who has experienced beyond his fair share of trials and tribulations.

Thank you very much for your time in reading this poem along with sharing such powerful thoughts on it. It means a lot. :)
From speaking with others I learned how important it is to do all you can in order to not be self focused. Even in the darkest of times you should strive to be as kind and thoughtful as possible. To do otherwise is unfair to the world around you who had no part in causing troubles. In fact those around you are what make life tolerable during times of despair.
Therapy has proven to me that getting emotions out is extremely helpful. But getting them out to get them out isn't exactly the path you should take. You honestly can double the effort if you put your feelings into the arts. This allows you to get out what you need to get out while also gaining a sense of accomplishment. Writing this made me feel good for it served two roles instead of just one. So the arts make for the win yet again. :)
May you find peace through your friendships here as you further your own respective efforts in the arts. :)
