Sure it's fun to freeze frame and peek at details here and there, but it's a lot more fun doing it on the big screen.
The rolling ball R-unit was...interesting.
Black Storm Trooper= Jedi/Rebellion spy.
Flat Millenium Falcon is flat. But the clunky speeder bike looks like something designed by 600V, so I'm down with that.
At first I wondered if John Boyega is supposed to be Zare Leonis from Rebels. I expect he'd be older and a higher rank though. His armor looks so much smoother and more streamlined than the older style.
And if Rebels is Star Wars canon, your suspicion might be correct. Are we looking at TFA's TBM?
Actually, 600V is a rather clever cg designer of retro space type stuff that frequently appears in Star Wars movies.
