Chapter 3 -- Master's Cave.
*Vaeros releases a loud belch that sprays out saliva and some of her meal's fur across the room.*
"Hehe, sorry about that. That burp probably pushed out most of the air so these things will stop wiggling in a bit."
*The red dragoness gives her bulging stomach a gentle hug to enjoy the last movements of the two strange mammals.*
"It will take me until tomorrow to digest these things down enough to fly at normal speed. So now that I am here, could you show me around this place?"
*Seralth thought for a moment if it was a good idea to let this new dragoness see the rest her cave. But after a moment of thinking she shrugs and replies to Vaeros.*
"Sure, just for now try not to touch anything unless I tell you to. First room you were just in is my sleeping chamber. Next room on I will show is what I call my oasis room."
*The purple dragoness turned around and lead the way down a long tunnel while Vaeros drag her large stomach behind. Finally upon entering a room the red dragoness's jaw dropped at the sight.*
"As you see here, this room is big enough for two ancient feral dragons to be in comfortably. In the center is my large pool, a natural spring that even bubbles that circulates the water to keep it fresh. Now then around the edges of the room you can see smaller tunnels, a stream that I made and finally a fence around it. That is where I raise those tasty mammals."
*Vaeros expression changes from awe to a smirk as she turns to the purple dragon and says in a sly tone.*
"No wonder this is the place dragons fight over to be the Master of the mountains. I have met a few people that would kill to get a place like this... just a figure of speech. Besides I will not tell anyone about this place so they will not become your fat."
*Seralth snickers at the last statement and continues down another tunnel. Soon the two enter a room that the purple dragoness does not have to explain its function. This area is smaller then the oasis room but is just as impressive as this is the treasure room.*
"Wow... there is no way you could have gotten all of this stuff in three years... hills of gold and gems. This has probably been collected by the other rulers of the land the past hundred years."
*The purple dragoness sighs and walks around the treasure to a few wooden chests, cabinets and crates.*
"This is all of my stuff... I traded a of the large pile of gold and gems already... for this stuff."
*Vaeros rushes over to her as those containers are getting opened.*
*The red dragoness examines the varies items and her tone changes from wonder to disappointment as she starts to ask Seralth in a loud tone.*
"THIS is what you have traded away? All I see is a few statues made from brass, some rope, farming supplies and... what seems to be a hunk of metal with a emblem design on it. Please tell me this stuff is magical or some type of rare antique."
*Seralth just shakes her head and gets ready to speak, yet Vaeros interrupts her. The red dragoness's eye twitches while explaining.*
"This stuff you could have gotten with at most five gold coins! You should have known the cost of this stuff from any store you passed by on your way here. Why did you waste so much treasure on a few tools and trinkets?"
*She took in a deep breathe and responded after giving a long sigh.*
"Well... not all that come here are not bad. Those that I do talk out of trying to kill the Master of the Mountains... I happily trade with and give them some extra gold to keep quiet about the fact that I am the one ruling this place. the farming stuff is what I asked for and the other stuff is random junk I accepted as a trade for a reason to help them out. The three years I have stayed in this place has made me lonely so I try to bring a large smile on those that deserve it."
*Vaeros walks over and gentle places her hand on the dragoness's shoulder and says in a kind tone.*
"Sorry for the out burst. But if you really are lonely then come with me for a while traveling a few territories and visit some towns. Lets leave in the morning and..."
*The red dragoness paused for a moment to pick up a map that was in the wooden crate.*
"... we can go to this town at least. Probably at most a days flight and then you can relax without having to worry about being attacked. Besides, a few light cherry ales can put a smile on anyone."
*A large grin went across Seralth's muzzle a moment before pouncing Vaeros and landing on a pile of coins. the purple dragoness starts to hug her tightly and says in between nuzzles the red dragon.*
"THANK YOU THANK YOU THANK YOU! You are right that I could use a break from this place. I accept the offer and will happily join you tomorrow."
*The red dragoness was slightly dazed from the pounce, at least she landed on a pile of loose coins so the landing did not hurt that much. She was surprised by Seralth's reaction as it seems that the Master of the Mountains spent what seems to be a hour of happy hugging. Vaeros finally was able to explain to the excited dragoness.*
"Do not tire yourself out now, since we will leave tomorrow. So lets just enjoy a nice sleep on this pile of treasure, like how the other ruling dragons would have."
*Vaeros wiggled her body to get comfortable and thought to herself.*
"If the trip turns out great... then maybe I will be given a chunk of this treasure as well."
