Sometimes I enjoy imagining Steve as the Link of the Wastelands. Carrying several weapons and equipment on him in some kind of hammerspace so that he can change his fighting style if need be, making him very versatile XD

Believe you're referring to Mavado, who in Deadly Alliance had actually stolen those hookswords from Kabal, who primarily wields them in the MK series. :P But yeah, like you, playing as Kabal in MK3 and future titles was what mainly got me interested in hookswords.
