In my mermaid world, females are generally the hunters and they start out quite young. Cherie is hitting the age when they usually start to learn, but it’s very difficult for them to keep up due to be underdeveloped and having such a small fin, which will grow as they do. Usually they can’t catch up to the fish or other fast moving creatures to hunt. However, learning now gives them better skills then if they only learned when they could keep up, it makes things much easier as they get older.

Different tools are used, as well as traps, though I haven’t thought them up yet. A trident is common and is Ada’s choice of tool, so Cherie is first learning how to use that.
